(532) Relationship Between Blood Volume Measures and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing Performance in Advanced Heart Failure

چکیده
PurposeDirect measurement of blood volume provides better assessment and guides management congestion in patients with heart failure (HF). The impact using surrogate measures from analysis (BVA) on cardiopulmonary responses to exercise HF is unknown.MethodsThis a prospective two-center study enrolling consecutive advanced who underwent test (CPET) invasive hemodynamic BVA. Total (TBV), red cell (RBCV) plasma (PV) were measured indicator dilution technique an I131-tagged albumin tracer. BVA reports absolute values %-deviation ideal values. Absolute indexed 70 kg weight. association between CPET parameters was assessed Pearson correlation.ResultsTotal 40 (mean age 54.7 years, 30% female, 53% African American, 33% HFrEF) included. Mean TBV, RBCV PV 4263 ± 807, 1586 443 2676 536 ml/70 respectively. peak oxygen consumption (VO2) 11.7 3.5 mL/kg/min % predicted maximal VO2 52.0 16.7 %. minute ventilation/carbon dioxide production (VE/VCO2) slope 35.0 9.8. Respiratory exchange ratio (RER) 1.03 0.16. There moderate correlation (r=0.340, p=0.03). We observed VE/VCO2 TBV (r=0.333, p=0.04), (r=0.355, p=0.02) %deviation (r=0.323, p=0.04). no or RER.ConclusionHigher degree by associated worse but not other HF. HF-related clinical outcomes warrants further investigation. Direct unknown. This correlation. RER. Higher

Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing in Heart Failure.
Exercise intolerance, indicated by dyspnea and fatigue during exertion, is a cardinal manifestation of heart failure (HF). Cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) precisely defines maximum exercise capacity through measurement of peak oxygen uptake (VO2). Peak VO2 values have a critical role in informing patient selection for advanced HF interventions such as heart transplantation and ventricul...
متن کاملCardiopulmonary Exercise Testing in Patients With Heart Failure
A recent issue of the Journal included two articles (1,2) involving cardiopulmonary exercise testing in patients with heart failure. Despite the clinical consequences of this test, there is no standardization of the compilation of results from the raw data. Interestingly, there is a great deal of literature involving the determination of ventilatory threshold but little standardization within o...

INTRODUCTION We evaluated the results of patients with congestive heart failure (CHF) who underwent cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) as part of their assessment for heart transplantation in order to examine the relationship between exercise capacity and resting indices of left ventricular function in these patients. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-seven ambulatory heart transplant candida...
